I work collaboratively and believe therapy should be responsive to the person rather than built around a one-size-fits-all approach. My style is active, curious, compassionate, practical, and human. I draw from approaches including CBT, DBT, ACT, MBCT, EMDR, mindfulness, self-compassion, expressive practices, and somatic interventions according to each person's needs, preferences, strengths, values, and goals. I work with adolescents (13+), adults, and older adults across Oklahoma, Florida, and South Carolina. Clients may come to therapy for anxiety, depression, trauma, chronic illness and pain, suicidal ideation, life transitions, identity exploration, or simply a desire to understand themselves and their lives more deeply. Our work may involve developing practical skills, processing difficult experiences, recognizing patterns, building resilience, strengthening self-compassion, or reconnecting with what matters. Our first session is an opportunity to begin getting to know one another and understand what brings you to therapy. We will talk about what has been happening, what you would like to be different, what has or has not been helpful in the past, and what you hope to gain from our work. You are also encouraged to ask questions and tell me what you need from therapy. You do not need to arrive at the first session knowing exactly what is wrong, what your goals should be, or where to begin. We can start with where you are and develop our direction together as we learn more about what feels useful, meaningful, and effective for you.
