Everything you need to know about Wellzy and AI therapy
No. Wellzy is an AI wellness companion. It isn't a licensed therapist, and it can't diagnose, treat, or replace professional care. Many people use Wellzy between therapy sessions or while they look for a therapist.
Wellzy is an AI wellness companion for everyday stress, anxiety, and tough days. You can talk things through anytime, practice skills inspired by CBT and mindfulness, track your mood, and search for a licensed therapist when you want professional care. Wellzy is not therapy or medical care.
Yes. The free plan includes daily AI conversations and breathing exercises. Wellzy Premium adds unlimited conversations, long-term memory, and more wellness tools, with a 7-day free trial ($12.99/month or $89.99/year).
Yes, to chat. A free account takes about a minute and never asks for a credit card. It is where your conversation history, journal and mood check-ins are saved. Sign up here.
Wellzy uses AI language models to have supportive conversations. It draws on ideas from CBT, DBT, and mindfulness to help you notice thought patterns and try coping strategies, and it remembers past conversations so support feels continuous. Wellzy is software: it can make mistakes, and it isn't a substitute for a licensed professional.
No. AI can't diagnose or treat mental health conditions, and Wellzy isn't therapy. Wellzy is for everyday support between sessions or while you look for care. When a conversation suggests you may need more support, Wellzy will encourage you to reach out to a professional, and you can search our therapist directory anytime.
AI wellness tools can help with everyday stress, but they have real limits. They can be wrong, they can't assess risk the way a clinician can, and they can't call for help. Wellzy screens every message for signs of crisis and shares resources like 988, but it is not a crisis service. Our Crisis Protocol explains exactly how it works.
CBT-style thought reframing, DBT-style coping skills, and mindfulness exercises. These are self-help techniques, not clinical treatment.
You can talk about anxiety, stress, low mood, relationships, work, self-esteem, grief, life changes and everyday challenges. Wellzy offers coping ideas, emotional support and practical suggestions. It can't diagnose or treat a condition.
Research on AI mental health tools is still early. Some studies suggest AI chatbots may help with everyday stress and low mood in the short term, but the evidence is limited, results vary by app, and AI tools are not a substitute for diagnosis or treatment. If you're dealing with a serious or ongoing mental health condition, a licensed professional is the right place to start.
Yes. Wellzy is available any time, day or night, weekends and holidays included. It is software, so it can't send help in an emergency: call or text 988, or call 911.
The text of your chat messages is encrypted in transit and in our database, and access is restricted. We never sell your data or share health information with advertisers, and you can delete your account at any time. Wellzy is not covered by HIPAA. Our Privacy Policy explains exactly how your information is handled.
Other users can't, and we never sell them. To write each reply, your messages are sent to the AI providers named in our Privacy Policy. A small number of authorized staff can read conversation content when it is needed to keep the service safe (for example, to review a crisis alert or a report), to help with a request you make, or when the law requires it.
Never. We will never sell, rent, or trade your personal information or mental health data to anyone. Your trust and privacy are paramount to our mission.
Yes. You can delete your account from your account settings. The account closes right away and is permanently deleted after 30 days; until then it can be restored if you ask us. A few safety records, such as crisis alerts and content reports, are kept after deletion, as our Privacy Policy explains.
Use our therapist directory to search for therapists near you by city or zip code. Each listing shows the therapist's details and how to contact them. Always confirm a provider's license with your state licensing board before you book.
Listings are reviewed before they appear, but Wellzy does not verify licenses. Always confirm a provider's license with your state licensing board.
No. Our directory helps you find and connect with independent therapists. The therapy sessions themselves are conducted by those professionals, not through Wellzy. You'll work directly with the therapist you choose.
Wellzy works on any device with a modern web browser - computers, laptops, tablets, and smartphones (iPhone and Android). Simply visit wellzy.io and start chatting. We also have a mobile app available on the App Store.
No downloads required! Wellzy works entirely in your web browser. However, we do offer an optional mobile app for iOS for a more convenient experience.
The free plan includes 25 messages on your first day and 10 messages per day after that — enough for a meaningful daily check-in. If you want more, Wellzy Premium ($12.99/month or $89.99/year, with a 7-day free trial) removes the caps with unlimited AI conversations.
Please get help right away. If you're thinking about harming yourself or someone else, or you're in danger, call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, 24/7), text HOME to 741741 (Crisis Text Line), or call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room. Wellzy is not a crisis service and can't send help.
No. Wellzy cannot and does not provide diagnoses. Only licensed mental health professionals can diagnose mental health conditions. If you're concerned about a specific condition, please consult with a qualified therapist or doctor.
